Camp Elite Safeguarding Policy

At Camp Elite, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We are fully committed to safeguarding practices that protect children from harm and create a safe, supportive environment.

Our Commitment

The welfare of children is paramount in all decisions and activities.

Every child, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, religion, or background, has an equal right to protection.

We work in partnership with children, families, schools, and agencies to promote welfare.

All staff, volunteers, and trustees must follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

What Safeguarding Means

Safeguarding is broader than child protection. It includes:

Protecting children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Preventing impairment of health or development.

Ensuring safe and effective care.

Taking action to enable the best outcomes for every child.

Types of Harm to Look Out For

Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Neglect. Bullying and cyberbullying. Domestic abuse. Grooming, child exploitation, or trafficking. Online abuse and radicalisation.

Your Responsibilities as Staff

Always act in the best interests of the child.
Be alert to changes in behaviour, appearance, or wellbeing.
Maintain confidentiality, but never promise secrecy if a child is at risk.
